Garage Organization Tips

Once you have finished cleaning out your garage, you can begin to organize it! There are plenty of ways to make your garage a space where you can actually find your things, but here are some ideas to get you going.

Renovate
: If you are willing to spend some money on your garage organization, take the plunge. You or a garage company can build shelving and actual cabinets in your garage. While you are updating the storage, you can also have new flooring installed, which can add a lot to the look of your garage. This is an especially good idea if you are using your garage for a different purpose than holding your car.

Easy Storage
: Some of the best storage could already be around your house. Old gutters can be installed higher up to hold things like spray paint and cleaning supplies that should be out of reach for children. Pegboards are great for holding tools, with the added bonus that they are easier to find than in a tool box. Save empty containers that have lids on them, such as peanut butter jars. You can then screw the lid onto the bottom of a shelf, fill up the jar with nails, tacks, etc., and screw the jar onto the lid.

Utilize the walls and ceilings
: The ceiling is a great spot for bike storage-just make sure that it is sturdy enough! You can hang folding chairs on the walls with a simple magnetic strip or hooks. In addition, with the right materials, you can slide plastic containers on your ceiling, great for holiday things!
